Székelyföld, the land of the Székely people, is in 3 counties in eastern Transylvania, a historical region in the central part of Romania. Hargita County (Harghita in Romanian) where most of my mother’s ancestors came from is in the middle of Székelyföld.
Almost everyone speaks Hungarian and the road signs, and most other signs are written in both Hungarian and Romanian.
