The American Story has long been written by immigrants.
On July 4, 1776…

This quote has me thinking about the immigrants who sacrificed and risked so much to create this new country.
Where did your ancestors immigrate from, and why?
My father escaped communist Hungary to come to Canada to meet my mother and start a new life. My mother’s parents emigrated to Canada after the Treaty of Trianon broke off their Székely homeland from the rest of Hungary and their livelihood was imperiled by Romanian rule.
My parents came to the US to further my father’s education and career in medicine. I came because my parents put my older sister and me in the backseat of the station wagon to take care of bratty little sister and poopy baby brother during the journey. We must have done a good job caring for them because they are really amazing people now. 😉
